Zinc, lead, stainless steel and tin
Beyond aluminium, copper and brass, we buy the full range of non-ferrous metals from industry, construction and demolition. Each has its own recovery channel and its own price.
Zinc
Gutters, roof coverings and cladding, printing plates, die-cast parts (zamak). Roofing zinc, often surface-oxidised, remains perfectly recoverable.
Lead
Roofing lead and flashings, counterweights, cable sheathing, shot and fishing weights. Lead batteries are taken separately: they fall under a regulated channel and must never be opened or drained.
Stainless steel
We distinguish magnetic from non-magnetic grades. 304 and 316 stainless, used in professional kitchens, food processing and industrial pipework, is the best valued. Magnetic 430 ferritic stainless is graded separately. A simple magnet test gives a first indication.
Tin and alloys
Tin solder, bronze bearings and bushings, filler metals. These batches are usually small in volume but high in unit value: do not mix them with the rest.
Not sure about your metal?
Send us a photo or drop by: we identify the metal, explain its grade and quote the price before any weighing.
